Power of the Force Jabba the Hutt by Hasbro

October 2, 2009

Holy cow. This is definitely my least favorite Jabba so far. There’s very little to like about it. It’s made out of a very hard plastic, unlike the softer rubbery materials used for most Jabba figures. The sculpt is based on the original horrid CGI Jabba from the “special edition” of A New Hope. The paint job is very unimpressive (EDIT: I later repainted one of these.)

It has an action feature (turn torso to make tail move) that makes it impossible to position his tail horizontally from his body, which is how we usually picture Jabba. And finally, it has bizarre plastic eyes that have been inserted into its head, giving the effect of one of those paintings with the moving eyes in haunted houses. The vintage figure is light years beyond this piece of crap.
